Types of Charging Stations

There are three basic types of electric vehicle charging stations:

Level 1 car charger (120-volt charger)

This is the most basic charger
for electric vehicles, and it
fits into regular 3-prong
outlets. This level requires no
special installation but takes a
long time to charge your car
battery. You can use level 1 car
chargers for overnight use.
However, it could take over 20
hours to fully charge an EV
vehicle battery.

Level 2 car charger (240-volt charger)

Most EV owners quickly upgrade
to a level 2 car charger, which
requires specialized knowledge
of EV charging stations’
installation. These chargers
have a dedicated 240 volt circuit
we can install in your garage or
in your driveway. Level 2
Chargers are up to 10 times
faster than Level 1 Chargers and
are more efficient which means
a faster charge for less cost.

DC Fast Charging

DC Fast Chargers are mostly
found in retail and gas station
parking lots for public use.
Fast Chargers capability is
increasing every day, with
some chargers capable of fully
charging vehicles in 15
minutes .

If you’re having an electric car charging station installed at your home, you’ll probably need a Level 2 charger. We help you select the perfect brand and model of Level 2 charger based on your vehicle and your home.

Why Level 2?

Level 2 chargers allow you to charge your electric vehicle over the course of a few hours, so
you can always charge quickly and conveniently.

  • Charge 3-10 times as quickly than you can with a Level 1 charger.
  • Level 2 EV chargers are reliable, safe, and energy efficient.
  • Charge during off-peak times to save money on energy consumption.

Benefits of EV Charging Stations for Your Home

Charge your electric vehicle quickly and conveniently with your reliable, safe, and easy-to-use charging station.

Depending on the type of charger you have at home, you might also find that your car charges faster when you use a station on your premises. Some public charging points are relatively slow, and this can be inconvenient, particularly if you have to wait for another driver to finish charging their car first. With a home charger, you have total control over when you plug your car in.

Tax Incentives.

Receive a 30% federal tax rebate of up to $1,000 for your installation and charger purchase on your next tax return! Ask about local or state incentives that you may be able to take advantage of as well.

Reduced vehicle emissions.

Per the EPA.com (Electric Vehicle Myths, 9/15/21), the greenhouse gas emissions associated with an electric vehicle over its lifetime are typically lower than from a gasoline-powered vehicle, even when accounting for manufacturing.

You can save money on charging

by taking advantage of low domestic electricity charges, rather than paying for public charging, which is likely to cost more. According to the Office of Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy, the annual cost of running a car when you charge it at home is less than an air conditioning unit.

Increased value of your home.

As the number of electric vehicles on the roads increases, there is also a case for home charging stations increasing the value of residential properties. If you were looking to move, and you own an electric vehicle, a house that already has a charging station is likely to appeal to you, right?
