Types of Charging Stations
There are three basic types of electric vehicle charging stations:
Level 1 car charger (120-volt charger)
This is the most basic charger
for electric vehicles, and it
fits into regular 3-prong
outlets. This level requires no
special installation but takes a
long time to charge your car

chargers for overnight use.
However, it could take over 20
hours to fully charge an EV
vehicle battery.
Level 2 car charger (240-volt charger)

to a level 2 car charger, which

have a dedicated 240 volt circuit

in your driveway. Level 2

faster than Level 1 Chargers and

found in retail and gas station
parking lots for public use.
